Popular Culture Assignment 1-4

Popular culture is how people live and believe. Many people listen to music in their homes, at work, or in the vehicle. While others only listen to music during special events. Wherever it is everyone listens to music at some point in their lifetime. Everyone has a favorite or “preferred” type of music. Popular culture is known as “pop culture”. Pop culture in the case of music has a king, Michael Jackson. He was the King of Popular Music. Michael Jackson remains one of the planets best known figures. (The Best Documentaries on Earth)
Michael Jackson was born in 1958 and began his music career at the age of four. His father was very harsh and strict. Michael was the youngest of the group The Jackson Five. In 1978, he topped the charts with his own music. In the late eighties, he began to be obsessed with his own aging process. He began taking drugs to make his skin white along with plastic surgery to change his appearance. In 2001, he marked his thirty years of show business. He performed with many others, but none who were as talented as him. (The Best Documentaries on Earth)
On June 25, 2009 at the age of fifty, Michael Jackson was pronounced dead. He will be remembered as the King of Pop for years to come. Although he has passed away, his music is still being sold throughout the United States as well as around the world. Michael Jackson’s music is well-know and has been for many decades.
